Nexo Australia has been appointed as a Credit Representative and has launched credit lines within Australia's consumer credit framework.
The appointment brings the digital asset platform's lending activity within Australia's formal consumer credit regime, adding regulatory oversight and consumer protections that were not previously attached to its local offering. Nexo Australia is locally incorporated, registered with AUSTRAC as a Virtual Asset Service Provider, and is a member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.
Borrowing against digital assets without selling them
The Credit Lines allow eligible clients to draw liquidity against their digital assets while retaining ownership of them, rather than selling holdings to access cash. Interest rates range from 0.9% to 21.9% per annum, depending on a client's loyalty tier and the Credit Line version selected. Nexo states that funds are typically available within 24 hours, with no fixed term, no origination fees, and flexible repayment terms attached.
Clients can choose to receive payouts in either Australian dollars or stablecoins, and Nexo has set up dedicated AUD account numbers for local deposits, intended to reduce delays that can occur when transferring funds to crypto platforms. A Collateral Exchange feature lets clients switch between eligible collateral assets without closing an existing Credit Line, allowing portfolio adjustments as market conditions change. Alongside the Credit Lines, Nexo has introduced the Nexo Booster, which lets clients increase exposure on new positions by up to three times using those positions as collateral.
Growth product reinstated, loyalty programme expanded
According to the official press release, Nexo Growth, the company's yield-bearing product, has also returned to the Australian market, offering returns of up to 10% per annum on supported assets. With this in mind, customers can select Flexible Growth, where returns accrue daily, and funds remain withdrawable, or Fixed-term Growth, which offers a set return rate over a defined period.
These additions sit alongside the existing Nexo Exchange and the Wealth Club loyalty programme, which spans four tiers and offers preferential Credit Line rates, cashback, and other benefits based on client activity. The programme received the Best Wealth Client Loyalty Programme for Digital CX award at The Digital Banker's 2025 Digital CX Awards.
Market context
According to Nexo, nearly one in three Australians now own cryptocurrency. Separately, Australia recorded approximately USD 6.96 billion (AUD 9.8 billion) in new personal fixed-term loan commitments in the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 14.5% year-on-year. A company official at Nexo said the products were designed to align with Australian regulatory requirements from the outset while giving clients a way to use their digital assets as part of a broader financial strategy.
The launch builds on Nexo's existing ties to the Australian market, including its role as the first Official Crypto Partner of the Australian Open. Nexo Group reports over USD 7 billion in assets under management and clients across more than 200 jurisdictions globally.
