Morph has launched Morph Payments, a non-custodial platform enabling businesses and digital professionals to accept, send and manage stablecoin payments.
The platform, introduced by Morph, a network for stablecoin payments and onchain finance, allows online businesses, freelancers, and globally distributed organisations to accept and send stablecoin payments, track transactions through a single dashboard, and settle funds directly on-chain.
The launch follows continued growth in stablecoin usage for purposes beyond trading. According to Visa's onchain analytics, adjusted stablecoin transaction volume reached USD 10.2 trillion over the twelve months preceding the announcement, an increase of 65% year-on-year. Morph attributes this growth to businesses increasingly using digital assets for faster settlement, cross-border payments, and treasury management. As adoption expands, the company said businesses are looking for ways to incorporate stablecoins into routine financial operations.
Non-custodial structure
Morph Payments differs from traditional payment processors in that it does not hold customer assets. Businesses connect a self-custodial wallet and receive payments directly on-chain, without transferring funds to a third party. According to Morph, this structure allows businesses to retain ownership and control of their assets while using a payments interface, with funds available immediately upon settlement. The company said this approach can reduce counterparty risk and reliance on intermediaries for releasing or safeguarding capital.
In the initial release, Morph Payments allows businesses and professionals to:
- accept payments in USDC and USDT from customers globally;
- connect a wallet without depositing funds onto the platform;
- monitor payment activity through a single dashboard;
- receive direct on-chain settlement on a continuous basis;
- create invoices and payment links that lead automatically to checkout.
Renna Ba, Head of Ecosystem at Morph, said every major shift in commerce has required new financial infrastructure, adding that payment experiences need to evolve as stablecoins become more widely used for moving money globally. The official said businesses are expected to increasingly operate across multiple stablecoins, in a manner comparable to operating across multiple fiat currencies, and that the aim is to make this complexity less visible to users.
Implications for freelancers and online businesses
For freelancers and remote professionals, Morph said the platform is intended to reduce payment settlement times compared with international bank transfers, which can take several days to clear. For online businesses, the company said the platform is intended to provide faster access to working capital, greater visibility over payment flows, and the ability to operate internationally outside conventional banking arrangements.
Morph said the launch connects Morph Payments to the wider Morph ecosystem, allowing recipients to use incoming payments on trading platforms and yield strategies built on Morph's network. The company said it plans to introduce further capabilities over the coming months aimed at supporting how businesses accept, manage, and move stablecoins.
