Finexio has partnered with MassPay to launch cross-border accounts payable payments spanning more than 180 countries and 80 currencies.
According to the official press release, the offering is rolling out with initial partners now, with general availability targeted for late summer 2026.
Cross-border vendor payments have typically sat outside standard AP workflows, requiring finance teams to use bank portals, wire forms, and correspondent banking chains that add processing time and reduce payment visibility. With this in mind, the Finexio-MassPay partnership positions the AP platform as the point of origination for international payments, with MassPay's infrastructure managing routing, delivery, and local payment rails on the back end.
How the payments will be processed
Under the initiative, Finexio customers will initiate international vendor payments from within their existing AP workflow. MassPay's infrastructure will then handle routing, funds delivery, and settlement through local payment rails in each destination market, incorporating screening and verification steps into the process. Each vendor's primary contact will be required to complete identity verification, including submission of a government-issued ID and a live selfie, before payments can be processed. In addition, in select markets, account and name validation will provide an additional verification layer. According to the companies, these measures contribute to a 99.76% transaction success rate across MassPay's network.
Payments will be routed through MassPay's existing local rails, including real-time payout methods where available in the destination market. The companies stated that no additional fees will be applied when a payment fails to reach its recipient, under MassPay's stated pay-for-success approach.
Rationale for the partnership
International vendor payments have historically involved trade-offs for AP teams, including longer processing times, limited visibility into payment status, the need for separate integrations per market, and additional reconciliation work for treasury teams. Finexio and MassPay said the partnership is designed to reduce these frictions by allowing companies to extend vendor payments into new markets without building new integrations for each one.
Chris Wyatt, CEO of Finexio, said the company's customers already pay vendors internationally but currently need to leave the AP platform to do so, using bank portals and losing visibility into payment status until funds land. He said Finexio selected MassPay based on the scale of its payment network.
Moreover, Ran Grushkowsky, CEO of MassPay, said the company has invested in building payment infrastructure that allows businesses to be paid through the currency, rail, and method suited to each local market, and that the partnership extends this infrastructure to Finexio's customer base.
The partnership reflects a broader trend in B2B payments, where AP platforms are increasingly embedding payment origination and delivery functions that were previously handled separately by banks or dedicated payment providers. For companies operating across multiple markets, the shift towards embedded cross-border payment infrastructure may reduce the operational burden associated with maintaining separate international payment processes alongside domestic AP systems.
