The evolution of quick commerce in the Middle East
Multiple factors fuel the need for progressive growth concerning quick commerce in the Middle East. While it started during the pandemic, when buying everyday necessities and groceries was more of a direct consequence, given the context, nowadays it has transformed into a necessity.
The increase in urbanisation, followed by a fast-paced lifestyle, and the high number of mobile users who are most likely to resort to an app for their needs are equally valid drivers for the rapid evolution of the quick commerce industry.
The consumer’s demand has created an expanding opportunity for companies, which has consequently brought competition with it.
The presence of opposition also motivates the trend of offering faster and better services for customers, since the main attraction point of quick commerce is to deliver goods in a matter of minutes. As follows, the need to have the right technology and payment systems to base their platforms derives from it.
Based on the research ‘Middle-East & Africa Quick Commerce Market Outlook, 2029’, the MEA commerce market is anticipated to reach more than 24% CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) from 2024 to 2029.
